Fun Facts: I was born and raised in the Greater Boston area and built my early career in Pittsburgh and Rhode Island. I am a first generation American of Asian heritage born to immigrant parents and I was also a first generation college student. Outside of my work as a psychologist, you will often find me with my husband, two toddlers and baby, three rambunctious rescue dogs, and our tabby cat! I bring to my work a deep respect and appreciation that each individual has a unique background and set of values that we should honor in our work together.

ABOUT ME & MY APPROACH

Welcome to Greater Boston Pain and Sleep Therapy. I am a clinical health psychologist specialized in behavioral medicine/health psychology. I find it most rewarding to help individuals improve their sleep difficulties, chronic pain, depression and anxiety.

If you work with me, we will explore your experience and focus on behavioral changes, reprocessing emotions and physical sensations, and the mind-body connection. We will develop targets for our work, and aim for you to shift what hasn’t been working, reconnect with yourself & others, and build a life based on your values.

My approach is active and present-focused. You would most likely benefit from therapy with me if you are engaged during sessions and actively apply what we discuss to life outside of sessions. I am trained in several evidence-based therapies, meaning approaches that have been shown to work, and I will customize your treatment based on your needs.

Themes that we cover in therapy may include: making actionable changes, evolving your relationship with your emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations (e.g. pain, heart racing, etc.), moving towards what makes you uncomfortable rather than avoiding or fighting against it, and shifting away from the “should’s” and instead engaging with your values.

I have worked with patients through a range of settings including outpatient psychiatry clinics, primary care, and numerous speciality clinics (spine center, sleep centers, etc.). My treatment length with patients has ranged from 2 sessions to 2+ years. Through these experiences I have gained comfort with providing care for you within a scope that is most helpful depending on your needs.

I consider therapy to be successful if you leave our work inspired to continue building a life you find worth living.
