Meet Dr. Patricia Wong

Do you feel like your body has become a source of stress rather than a sanctuary? Perhaps you lie awake at 2 AM with a mind that won't shut off, or you're navigating a world narrowed by the constant "alarm" of chronic pain. Many of my clients feel betrayed by their own systems—exhausted by restless nights, persistent discomfort, or the heavy weight of a chronic health diagnosis. Perhaps you want to stop just "managing" symptoms and start feeling safe and capable in your own body again. You are looking for a path back to the energy and freedom that allow you to engage with the people and activities you love.
I’m a Clinical Health Psychologist specializing in Behavioral Medicine and I dedicate my practice to helping individuals who are struggling with sleep difficulties, chronic pain, or the weight of a chronic illness. By maintaining a small caseload, I provide the deep, customized care needed to help you regain your wellness.
You can read more about my background here.
Below I outline the main types of therapy I provide:
Specialized Therapies
Insomnia Treatment | Stop "trying" to sleep and start resting. If you’re tired of relying on medication or "sleep hygiene" tips that aren't working, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) may be the answer. It is the gold-standard protocol that helps you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer by using behavioral strategies to leverage your body's natural sleep biology and by retraining your brain's relationship with the bed. On average, clients feel a shift in their sleep, energy and focus in just 6 to 8 weeks.

Chronic Pain Therapy | Your brain can "unlearn" pain. Chronic pain is often an overprotective alarm system that has forgotten how to turn off. Using Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we target the roots of your discomfort to help you feel safe and capable in your body once again. Because every pain experience is unique, our first step upon meeting is a specialized assessment to determine the right path for you:
For Neuroplastic Pain: We use PRT to "de-trigger" the brain’s alarm system. Most clients in this group report a significant reduction in pain within 8 to 10 weeks.
For Structural or Complex Pain: We focus on CBT and ACT to lower the "volume" of your symptoms, improve daily functioning, and restore your quality of life, even in the presence of physical limitations.

Integrated Therapy | Live with intention. Navigating a health diagnosis is exhausting. I provide integrated therapy for the stress, anxiety, and depression that often accompany physical health challenges. We focus on the mind-body connection to help you live with intention, even in the presence of physical limitations.
Based on your needs and goals, we draw from CBT, ACT, and short-term psychodynamic therapy to build a toolkit for resilience. Our work together is designed to help you reconnect with yourself and your values, ensuring that your diagnosis doesn't define your entire story.

A Note to Prospective Clients
Thank you for visiting. I invite you to browse my website and read more about my background, clinical philosophy, and treatments I offer.
I offer in-person visits in Sharon, MA.

To ensure I maintain a limited number of active cases and provide dedicated, high-quality care, I am no longer in-network with any insurance panels and have transitioned to a private pay practice. Please note that while some insurance directories may take time to update their public listings, I am an out-of-network provider. I am happy to help you use your out-of-network benefits if included in your insurance plan. I encourage you to contact your insurance company to inquire about these benefits, and please feel free to contact me to discuss this further.
I welcome your inquiries to ensure my approach aligns with your clinical goals and to determine if we may be the right fit.
Wishing you warmth and wellness.
